This is a place to send your prayers to the Fog god. She may not always respond, or she may respond in ways you don’t expect, but she is always listening.

Speak, she hears you.

OOC note: As of April 2020, threads with the gods will be capped at three NPC replies! Please keep this in mind when writing god prayers to make sure you get everything you need out of the thread. It’s also possible to handwave prayers by titling your comment HANDWAVED PRAYER. Handwaved prayers lack our usual flourish, but you can expect a faster response!

As of February 2024, god prayers will be handwaved only. Please only submit a prayer if you have a question for either god which needs answering in order to progress your character's arc within Ryslig. If this is something you need to tier up within the god boon system, or just to set up a player plot in general, please don't hesitate to submit a prayer about it! You may shorten it down to an OOC summary of what your character is asking. This will allow any of our helper mods to reply much faster, without having to dig into the specifics of either god's personality/writing quirks. Should this limitation be lifted again in the future, this note will be removed.

[ In relation to this.

Ron is kneeling in front of his bed, hands knitted together and head bowed as he prays with closed eyes. He's done this hundreds of times, even though it was usually just general prayers before night time or meals or the morning. Since he joined the Fog God he's adjusted his prayers a little bit though. And he's not used to asking things rather than just doing the prayers he's been taught, so that's a bit new. ]

God of Fog hear my prayer,
keep me in thy loving care.
Be my guide in all I do,
Bless all those who love me too.

[ And then for the part he needs to add now. ]

I wish that there was a way for Reira-niisan to forgive me. I know how to do it. Can you please bring his nii-san Reiji here as a Christmas present? Not like a ghost but for really real. Thank you.

[Normally there's no response to Ron's prayers, besides a strange twist in the fog outside, or an odd breeze under the door just after he's done. The Fog God is always listening, but she stops there. This time, though - this time, the strange breeze draws in little twists of fog underneath the crack of the door. They flutter upward into a vague outline, almost humanoid.]

[There are whispers echoing from it even while it's still forming; when it's done, they become clear.] He is not worthy of being brought here. Not like you are.

[The figure stretches out one arm-like appendage, reaching to cup Ron's chin.] Ask of me something else, pet.

[ The shape taking form in his room surprises him. He'd been hoping he would get more than he usually got, but he hadn't expected it, even though he was willing to sit and wait for much longer this time.

He stares up at the unclear face, trying to find eyes to look at. He doesn't pull back at the touch to his chin, but he frowns. ]

I don't want anything else, I just want that.

[fromthefog]

[The appendage cupping his chin strokes gently, stilling abruptly as Ron's request remains unchanged, taking on a note of demand this time. The figure seems displeased as she looks at him despite the lack of clear features in its form.

When she breaks her silence, the Fog God's voice isn't angry, but it is firm.]

I told you to ask something else. I already told you. I will not bring those who are undeserving.

[ His hoof thumps against the floor. He's sitting down, so the sound isn't very strong. ]

No, nothing else, just that. It's not fair.

[fromthefog]

[The figure seems to grow slightly, almost forbiddingly taller. The air is somehow chillier.] It is more than fair, child. Those who wish for my blessing must earn it first, as you have.

It would do you better to ask of a boon I would willingly give.

[ He cowers, feeling upset and worried. This was supposed to be his last chance, this had to work or Reira would never come back. ]

I don't w-want it, go away, you're being a meanie...!
