This is a place to send your prayers to the Fog god. She may not always respond, or she may respond in ways you don’t expect, but she is always listening.

Speak, she hears you.

OOC note: As of April 2020, threads with the gods will be capped at three NPC replies! Please keep this in mind when writing god prayers to make sure you get everything you need out of the thread. It’s also possible to handwave prayers by titling your comment HANDWAVED PRAYER. Handwaved prayers lack our usual flourish, but you can expect a faster response!

As of February 2024, god prayers will be handwaved only. Please only submit a prayer if you have a question for either god which needs answering in order to progress your character's arc within Ryslig. If this is something you need to tier up within the god boon system, or just to set up a player plot in general, please don't hesitate to submit a prayer about it! You may shorten it down to an OOC summary of what your character is asking. This will allow any of our helper mods to reply much faster, without having to dig into the specifics of either god's personality/writing quirks. Should this limitation be lifted again in the future, this note will be removed.

[So after this conversation, Danny attempts to pray to the Fog. It has been... a while since he's done this, given the year long absence he had taken from this place, but he is certainly trying his best to reach out to her presence.]

I should have done this so much sooner, in fact as soon as I had found myself here again, but... I want to speak to you. And thank you, for bringing me back. I truly don't deserve your kindness in that regard...

[... Even if Aunamee may say otherwise, he considers. Self-hatred is a strong part of Danny's being, unfortunately.]

[A warmth starts to permeate the room. Nothing oppressive, given that it's nearly summer, but perhaps akin to a soft sunbeam.

An indiscernible figure appears in Danny's periphery, one cloaked in mist and fog. Should he turn in its direction, though, it will shift again to his periphery, ever-fixed.]

You are deserving of the new life I have given you and more, child.

[So he can't help but notice, given that Danny only has one working eye here.]

You're not just saying that because I'm interested in you, are you? I mean... if I decided even after speaking with you that I wasn't going to become one of your followers, would you still feel the same way?

[Because that's what holds him back from full on becoming ride or die for her yet--the idea that her love only extends to those who show any promise or usefulness to her as a follower like Aunamee and the others.]

[The warmth doesn't recede at all, nor does the figure. The Fog's voice is one of soft sweetness, a velvety timbre that conveys a smile.]

It is your choice whether to become my follower, and my love would extend to you all the same.

[To the Fog's credit, she actually sounds far more sincere than he typically expects of most people saying things like this. When he had joined up with Gray's cause back home, he had enjoyed being with that man, but had always carried an underlying fear that the Reverend would have wanted nothing to do with him otherwise if he hadn't agreed to take part. And that Danny would be cast aside the moment his usefulness ran out, so he had to keep working hard to keep Gray looking...

But with the Fog... any fear he does feel at this thought is not nearly as strong as it was back then. Or even as strong as some of his interactions with Aunamee can be. It's... comforting. A feeling that he hasn't experienced in a long time, and he doesn't think he wants to let it go. Not yet. So...]

You've done so much for me here... I think it's only fair that I give back in return and do what I can to help you as well. So... I'd like to join you. If you're okay with having me, that is.
