Dated Halloween night, 31st October cw: gabe's adventures in skinning

[He's often left small offerings on the altar in the little back room of his and Monty's home, but this one's a little different. A little special. Gabriel doesn't heed Elias' bullshit for one second. He had, in fact, taken great pleasure in ripping the hides from the creatures the whelp had wanted to protect from the fate they deserved, drawing screams from creatures that had fought in the war that had brought Her so much pain and grief. The skin was thin, delicate, and had required careful work to turn it into the expanse of leather he's carefully rolling out on the edge of Dyster, where the shadowed figures dancing at the bonfires cannot be seen.]

[This tattooed hide is one single piece from the back of a body, and is covered in fine, delicate line work in ink that's been meticulously tattooed into the leather itself. The main focus of the work is a map of the peninsula as seen from the air, with black marks for each of the major settlements and Dyster. The edges of the scene are decorated with coiling Naga, Harpies, Minotaurs - all of the forms the Fog's children can take. It's the labour of many hours.]

I know you'd prefer if people didn't ask about the past. I ain't planning on it. What's been and gone and is dead should stay that way. [He runs a paw over the leather.] The pup took it a step far by tryin' to bring those who hurt you in the first place back.

[He sighs softly.]

I'll keep it short. Bit cold for my tastes, these days. For every single human life he tried to save, I made sure any I could rip from them suffered for it. It ain't much, but... Sometime's agony's the only thing that hammers the lesson home.
